Recalls for the week: 2020 Jeep Gladiator: Dealers need to replace the driveshaft for free. 2020 Mini Hardtop, Cooper, Cooper S: Dealers need to install crash pads for free. 2017 Ford Explorer: Dealers need to install flocked tape to the exposed edge and tab on the inboard side of the power-seat frames for free. You can find out if your car has a past recall by going to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration’s website: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and inputting your VIN number.
The first-ever Walmart Car Seat Recycling Event is taking place now until the end of the month, in celebration of National Baby Safety Month. Hurricane Katrina flooded and damaged an estimated 500,000 to 600,000 vehicles along the Gulf Coast, with about 300,000 vehicle insurance claims filed due to the storm.
