News:
As consumers plan their summer road trips, it’s a good idea to check on tire health before hitting the road. Properly maintained tires can help you stay safer on the road and save money on gas in the long run. Goodyear’s Michiel Kramer, director of Product Marketing recommends keeping the following considerations in mind:
Check your door panel for tire pressure: Recommended tire pressure is included right on a small sticker located on the driver’s side door jamb! Check here first, so you don’t have to guess. Hot summer roads and increased sun exposure mixed with underinflated or overinflated tires can be a one-way street to a tire blowout, so it’s important to be on top of your tire pressure this summer.
Check your tire treads: High temperatures can cause your tires to wear out faster, leading to decreased traction. You can quickly check your tire tread by inserting a penny into your tire – if Lincoln’s head doesn’t sink into the tire groove, it’s time for new tires.
Make sure you have the right tires: As a rule of thumb, you should remove winter tires once the overnight temperature is consistently above 45°F and switch back to all-season or summer tires, such as Cooper Cobra Instinct®. If off-roading adventures are on your summer bucket list, check out the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac® RT.
You can get your tires inspected for FREE: Drop by a Goodyear Auto Service center to get a Free Car Care Check where a technician will conduct a thorough tire and vehicle inspection. Visit the nearest center for extra peace of mind before your trip!

What you don’t typically see is easy to forget about, which is why the undercarriage is often overlooked when performing regular maintenance. But neglecting the maintenance of the undercarriage can lead to bigger car problems. It is a vital part of keeping your vehicle clean and working. The undercarriage of the vehicle is in close proximity to the road’s surface, which means it takes the brunt of the salt, rain, sleet, and mud you drive through. 45:43|Originally aired: 12/14/2023Odometer fraud, also referred to as "busting miles" (United States) or "clocking" (UK, Ireland and Canada), is the illegal practice of rolling back odometers to make it appear that vehicles have lower mileage than they actually do. Odometer fraud occurs when the seller of a vehicle falsely represents the actual mileage of a vehicle to the buyer. According to the Office of Odometer Fraud Investigation at the US Department of Transportation, odometer fraud is a serious crime and important consumer fraud issue. In the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) 2002 odometer fraud study, the NHTSA determined that 450,000 vehicles were sold each year with false odometer readings, resulting in a cost of over $1 billion annually to car buyers in the US. In the UK, the Office of Fair Trading estimates the annual cost at £500m.Email the show: auto@mpbonline.orgRecalls: Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment | NHTSANews: It Just Got Harder For Car Dealers To Scam You - New FTC regulations, called the Combating Auto Retail Scams Rule, are supposed to make life easier for car buyersAuto Casey Car Reviews: Short video: 2023 Ford F150 Raptor R | Short Take – YouTubeAuto Correct | Auto Tips for Navigating the Holidays
