Recalls you may need to know about
- Takata Air Bags: Approximately 67 million Takata air bags have been recalled. This recall involves 19 automakers.
- Ford: A rear toe-link fracture on certain 2013-2017 Ford Explorers can result in a loss of steering control. This can increase the risk of a crash. There are 645,000 affected vehicles
- Chevrolet: High voltage batteries in Chevrolet Bolt vehicles can catch fire. This recall is for all Bolts, including vehicles that may have already had a recall remedy completed. There are 110,000 affected vehicles.
You can find out if your car has a past recall by going to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and inputting your VIN number. Or find their SaferCar app.
In the news: Toyota and Lexus show images of EV concepts. The company says it will offer 30 electric models by 2030 and claims to be working on solid-state batteries for both Toyota and Lexus models.

A recent study looked at driving fatalities between 2017 and 2021 to reveal the most dangerous ages for drivers in every state. New data has revealed that young drivers aged 19 and under are the most at-risk drivers in America, as they report the highest rate of fatal road accidents. The research analyzed car crashes reported between 2017 and 2021 to identify the age of each fatality and reveal the most at-risk. As well as this, the study examined the states that see the highest fatality rates per age group. Mississippi has been named the second most dangerous state for young drivers aged 19 and under, with 220 deaths per 100k licensed drivers. Shockingly, this is a 133% increase than the national average, which was revealed to be 97 fatalities per 100k drivers. Although it was drivers 19 and under who were most at risk in Mississippi, data also revealed that the second-deadliest age range for drivers is 20-29.
