Recalls for the week:
more than 440,000 model-year 2013-15 Kia Optima sedans and 2014-15 Sorento SUVs. There’s a risk that brake fluid may leak inside the hydraulic electronic control unit, possibly resulting in an electrical short that could increase the risk of an engine compartment fire while parked or driving. Owners are advised to park outside and away from other vehicles and structures until the repair is completed. Dealers will install a new multifuse and inspect the hydraulic ECU for leaks, replacing it, as necessary, for free. Kia will begin notifying owners July 2, but those with further questions can call the automaker at 800-333-4542, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236.
